Intercity buses reach many Moroccan towns that trains do not, and they are often the most direct choice for routes such as Marrakech–Essaouira or Rabat–Chefchaouen. The key is choosing the right operator and confirming the exact departure point.

For every transport mode, see Getting Around Morocco.

CTM or Supratours?

Choose CTM for a broad national coach network, online booking and clearly identified stations. Choose Supratours when a journey naturally continues from the ONCF rail network to a town without trains. Compare departure times and station locations, not only price.

CTM tickets and luggage

CTM sells through agencies, authorised counters and its official website. Vehicle features vary, so do not depend on Wi-Fi or power sockets.

CTM’s official conditions state that hold luggage is paid. Travelers may register two hold bags, each no heavier than 20 kg and within the dimension limit. Keep the baggage ticket until collection and move your own luggage during coach changes. Documents, medication and electronics belong in hand luggage.

Supratours connections

Supratours is an ONCF subsidiary serving cities outside the rail network. Its timetable search covers origin, destination, date and time. Confirm whether a train-and-coach trip is one connected booking and check the exact stop: it may be beside a railway station in one city and separate elsewhere.

Cancellation and exchange depend on the fare and timing. Read the conditions attached to your ticket.

Other coaches and stations

Municipal terminals host private companies whose service standards vary. Use an official counter and confirm company, departure bay, destination, stops and luggage charge before paying. Ask whether the coach is direct.

Book online for weekends, holidays and popular routes. Save tickets offline. At the station, arrive at least 30 minutes early to locate the counter and register luggage.

On board

Journey times are estimates. Traffic, weather and stops can change arrival time, so avoid a tight flight or last-train connection. Keep valuables with you, identify the coach before leaving during a rest stop and take a warm layer.

Trains usually allow easier movement on connected routes; coaches win when direct. A grand taxi may suit short regional links but offers less luggage space. Compare our Morocco train guide and Morocco taxi guide.
